One plus one equals three
I want to remind that the life of an entrepreneur, without being darkness itself, happens in twilight. This permanent dusky brown lets through rare moments of joy. He seeks encouragement, recognition, “a spark in the dark,” a flash in his solitary night. He must be pleasant in dealings with everyone because he is selling his services. Large companies and organizations, whether public or not, do not easily grant this recognition, nor access to major projects, where the money is found. Approval, the sympathy of the public, always remain a source of hope. But a pat on the shoulder is not enough, and sometimes his calls for involvement and help in developing his technologies find an echo. When interest comes from a college, a recognized and honorable institution of higher education, he is fulfilled. Respect first and foremost is what he aspires to, for himself and his role in our society. He wishes cooperation, collaboration, whatever the nuance. Opportunities to lend a hand are not lacking. An inexhaustible source of technological challenges, companies need knowledge institutions, universities and colleges, to share projects and benefits. Professors are already showing interest; institutions must follow. They have infrastructure and reputations that companies cannot afford. Specifically, this desired spark, we owe to the Cégep de Jonquière and its ATM. Having demonstrated its high creative potential and the values that drive it in action, Imagem was recognized by the college as a partner up to its expectations. Imagem is developing to become a reference with an international vision. This link created with the institution will strongly contribute to that. Each taking its role, the parties will certainly be driven by shared challenges and pride from now on. Students and professors will concretely see the fruit of their contributions in projects. Thanks to its general director Mr. Sylvain Gaudreault and its partnership relations officer Ms. France Tremblay, the Cégep de Jonquière and Imagem will share development challenges with students and professors for 5 years, starting with work on voice recognition. Not surprisingly from people so devoted to the community, the Cégep de Jonquière has opened the way.
