For its 25th anniversary, Imagem offers itself a partnership

The company Imagem, specializing in health IT and voice recognition, concluded a partnership on September 5th with the Cégep de Jonquière in order to refine and perfect its voice recognition solutions thanks to the diversity of the vocal sampling. Since its founding, Imagem has proven itself by serving more than 40 hospitals across Quebec, thus contributing to the improvement of medical processes through cutting-edge technologies. By optimizing its voice recognition tools through this partnership, the company could be propelled onto the international stage. “This initiative is a crucial step in our mission of internationalization and continuous innovation,” says Jacques Gagnon, engineer and president of Imagem. “By working with the Cégep de Jonquière, we have the opportunity to integrate diverse voices that will enrich our technology and allow us to compete with the world leaders in the sector.” Kevin Lavoie, director of operations at Imagem, demonstrated the PostScriptum software, which operates by voice dictation. (LE QUOTIDIEN, MARIANE L. Students wishing to participate in this sampling will have to read texts from a literary creation collective of the association Les écrivains de la Sagamie, entitled Une nuit à l’auberge des 21. The three authors who agreed to contribute to the project are Sonia Perron, Paul Kawczak, and Michaël LaChance. The company is looking for up to 500 participants, who can come record their voices between September 10 and October 10. To thank them, Imagem offers them the chance to win a Mac Book Air by random draw. Additionally, $5,000 will be paid annually for five years to the Asselin Foundation to enable all those living in more precarious situations to be supported in pursuing their college studies.

“The collaboration with Imagem is a perfect example of how local companies can partner with higher education institutions to generate positive impacts on a global scale,” says Sylvain Gaudreault, general director of the Cégep de Jonquière. “We are delighted to participate in this initiative which will contribute not only to technological advancement but also to supporting education.”
